Two small pours of red Burgundy

After trying 3-oz. pours of two Thomas Pinot Noirs from Oregon, I tried 1.5 oz. pours of two Burgundies at Enoteca Vin.

2003 Jourdan Cote de Nuits Villages "La Robignotte" did not impress me as much as previously (a different vintage?) It did have a lingering finish and tasted "weightier" than the Champy but not necessarily better. In the past I have been impressed with the fragrance of the Robignotte.

2005 Champy Bourgogne Rouge
(I purchased two bottles of the 2005 Champy Bourgogne "Signature" for #$19.99 each--$16.99 by the case--not sure if this was the Signature I had at Enoteca Vin or a step down to basic Bourgogne Rouge.)
Less transparent than the Thomas wines. A dark crimson. Good QPR (at least for Burgundy). Easy going and food friendly--think cheeses or roast fowl or mild rabbit or duck preparation. Also cold roast beef. I'm glad I bought the "Signature"--may have to reorder. Could be a good wine for my Thanksgiving wines church fundraiser.
