Savigny les Beaune 1st Crus, 2000

Beeeeyoooteeful wine, and at $20--a good buy.

Slight earthy/mushroom nose, fantastic balanced structure, good body and a light hint of berry fruit. 13%.

Had it with Fioret (sp) goat brie--not the best pairing until the cheese got real warm and its fats and acids, not to mention ammoniated qualities, bounced up against the Pinot Noir to create ramparts bursting--oh wait, that was one of my gold crowns and it was the bread crust that cracked it...

Sounds great!

Not the filling part, of course. Ouch!
