Light garnet colour and with wood and a bit stemminess on the nose. Some bright fruit but dominated by wood, stemminess, good acidty and strong tannins. Finished a bit hot but only just a bit. Not entirely together. Still with good levels of acidity, it was clean if not short on the palate. About $13.75 USD but I would not look for again.

Hi E,

I agree with your tn on the Inniskillin pinot... personally, I've never been a huge fan of their pinots. But, their icewine is quite tasty.

Have you tried the Cedar Creek Platinum Reserve Pinot? It's a bit more expensive than the Inniskillin but IMHO, I think you'll find it a much better glass of pinot. The last time I bought it... approx. CDN$36.00 a bottle.

On the topic of pinots... have you ever tried either the Cambria or Marimar Torres?

Cheers

Vintages for PN from BC are 97/99/01/03
Producers to look for in the Okanagan Valley-
from the big guys:
Quail's Gate "family res."
Cedar Creek "platinum"
from the little guys:
Blue Mountain, both cream and stripe lable
Kettle Valley, they have a number of single vinyard pn.
Producers from Vancouver Island-
Garry Oaks
Cherry Point
Alderlea
Godfrey-Brownell
I realize that all of these wines are never exported, however when travelling in this fine province if you pick these up you will be blown away. Vintage for PN in BC is key as some of these unlisted years have been exceptionally hot. Cheers

Unfortunately, the Blue Mountain Blue Stripe Label P/N is never seen in the stores... they're sold out to preferred restaurants or those folks on their mailing list.

I've managed to get a few bottles from friends...

So many wines... so little time!

Cheers

Hi Wow,

Cambria is one of those wines that you either like or not. It's certainly not the best of pinots but it's easy to drink and fairly inexpensive.

Personally, I kind of like the nose on the wine...

Hi E,

If you get up to Vancouver... beware that the 39th and Cambie BCLB is undergoing a massive renovation. It's one GIANT pita finding where all the good stuff has been moved to. I'd suggest shopping at the Alberni & Thurlow location instead!

Cheers
