Hello,

I am some what new to fine wine, inasmuch as I never paid a lot of attention to where it came from, just learned most of the grapes and tried always in the past to "get a good deal" on a bottle. I have learned that these cheaper wines are somewhat lacking in flavor.

I have two Bordeaux wines I have yet to open, one is a Medoc, Chateau Les Grands Chenes, Cru Bourgeois, 1999; the other is from Cotes de Castillon, Chateau d'Aiguilhe, 2002. Can anyone tell me anything about either of these?

Also, what exactly is "decanting"? If it is allowing air to get to the wine, can't you just pour a glass and let it sit a while before you drink it?
