Hi Sammy, and welcome to the board. I personally like a nice light, fruity pinot noir with salmon. The bigger chardonnays are also on the list iff'n you like SWs'. WW

A well made Gamay will do well with salmon too.

I disagree with ww about the Chardonnay and salmon, unless the salmon is bombarded with butter, which I am sure ww does, since he is a true cholesterol-chomping Okie...

Pinot Noir or Beaujolais here.

I still have to convince my sister and brother-in-law of the Pinot Noir with salmon match. They're of the impression that only a white wine goes with fish so my sister orders a Pinot Grigio and then my brother-in-law goes against his own "rule" by ordering a Merlot!--(at least it was a Bogle Merlot which is good value).

WoW, You have to convince them that Pinot Noir is THE perfect match to salmon. That assumes fairly naturally prepared salmon, without some really wild Nouveau (or is that Nouvelle) Cuisine sauce on top.

Yes, the sauce is the stuff--My Other Half and I recently made salmon with a "martini" sauce, and paired it with an Albarino. Delicious!

Thank you for all your great inputs. I will give Pinot Noir a shot and see how I like it. Thanks once again.

Maybe Sauvignon Blanc with the ceviche but I agree that Pinot Noir (or possibly Beaujolais) is a better match for the salmon.

High acid seafood dish--being sometimes the contrarian: chardonnay (little to no oak).
