Gotta love Costco. I bought a pack of dress socks, a golf shirt, and this 1996 Bordeaux. All at the same store. Nutty.

Decanted and started tasting at two hours, but wine started getting most interesting at three. So next time I will plan further ahead.

Ruby in the glass with no bricking. Nice nose of plums, leather, and veggies - specifically bell pepper. Good smooth texture with plums and spice. Medium complexity. Finish is good but a touch short. Enjoyable wine.

Paid 35 and will buy a couple more to have an enjoyable mature Bordeaux in the cellar.

could've sworn i posted on this bottling, the second wine of cos d'estournel, a while back, but search doesn't turn it up.

first came across this about 2 years ago, and bought a case at $29.99 per bottle.

have had four bottles, and my scores have ranged from 88-92, so there's a good bit of bottle variation. but this is quality, aged bordeaux for a bargain.

I really enjoyed this wine and would have given it an 89/90 for a score. Very much a food wine.
