Another example of infanticide but I needed to taste it before committing to more. This was a very nice Meursault. Meally like other Mersaults but with more complexity, though it had a nicely delicate though acidity nose initially which left with some time.

There was a lot in this wine and it needed a good few hours to open up. Initially tasting a bit more like a chardonnay than a meurault, but it came back around. Very full flavored wine, nutty and bread-like. Really smooth mouthfeel and nice complexity with good acidity and structure. Long finish and persistence. $65 per bottle.

Opened at same time as the 1990 Charpoutier Hermitage...so unfortunately got clobbered in the popularity contest, but still a nice wine.

A Meursault is a Chardonnay. Or did you mean it tasted more like a Cal Chard than a French wine at first?

Sorry, I meant the later that it tasted like a domestic Chardonnay, crisper, less stuffing. Should've been more clear. Thanks for the heads up.
