Deep ruby to purple. Nose has developed beautifully with violets, red fruits, plums, and vanilla. Smooth entry, solid center, and a 4&1/2 lapper finish. Still has some soft tannins that will take another 2-4 to resolve. Another fine bottle from the mighty Tom. 91/92 32 on futures. 14.5% alc. WW

Opened another for lunch today. Nose has progressed famously adding some nice mineral notes, saddle leather and earth. Great mouthfeel and solid center are still being shut down prematurely by some soft tannins. Maybe another 1-2 but tremendously enjoyable as is. No change in scoring. WW

I bought a mini-vertical of Dehlinger cab back in December. The '01 was very big and drank very young. Needs more than a few additional years to mature. The '99 was wonderful. Only decanted two hours and could have used at least 2 more. Beautiful fruit, structure and was developing secondary characteristics. Opened the '06 a couple months ago and that sucker was corked. MAJOR bummer. :-(
