Im doing an assignment for tafe and i need to know what a dessert wine is. If anyone could help that would be great

Hi Estollery and welcome to the board. A dessert wine is normally a wine that has residual sugar left in it after fermentation. Most are white wines like the king of dessert wines, Sauternes from France, Late Harvest or Eisweins from Germany and in the red catagory Port from Portugal. The sweetness is determined by the amount of sugar left in the grapes ranging from 2% to over 30%. Hope this helps. WW
