Deep ruby with no bricking. Deep nose of plums, black cherries, cinnamon, a tad of earth, and pencil shavings. Solid entry, weighty center and a solid 4+ lapper finish. The aromatics are so sexy it's hard to concentrate on drinking this hummer. Definately at the top of its' game but should hold another 3-6. Solid effot from Gina-Girl. 91/94.23 by the box.14.1% alc. Not nearly as much as I remembered. Most was on the side of the bottle where it was stored. Isn't it the 97 that has all of the fine sediment we've noticed before?. WW

still have a handful of the 97s and a six-pack of the 99s. both with lots of sediment, with the 97 having more.

have yet to get my hands on the '01, but i know it's finally starting to make its way into the stores.

drew: have you sighted any of the '01 in MD? hardly anyone in the DC area carries this stuff. that's a pity.

Opened the last of this puppy yesterday after a root canal. Still holding strong and has an improved nose. Still leaving a passel of sediment on the bottle shoulder and with the 1st pour you do get some of them lil' dudes in the glass. As usual I have buyers remorse for not buying multiple boxes. No change in scoring and if you have more don't rush to uncork as they still have a high plateau of drinkability. WW

Sympathies for the root canal, WW.
I had my first root canal scheduled for the day that a hurricane was to hit North Carolina (several years ago). The combination of anxieties and my usual gagging reflexes led to a bad situation. The dental surgeon finally rescheduled the appointment (after clean up of patient and office) and prescribed one valium to be taken an hour or so before the next appointment. The valium worked wonders. I breezed through the root canal.
