Hope the Childrens' Abuse Police don't come after me. What a dy-no-mite bottle of juice. On par or maybe a shade ahead of the 94. Tons of flavors with coffee, tarragon, huge fruits and behind the wall of silky tannins an elegant bottle of juice just hankerin' to overwhelm the palate. Needs another 4-7. 96-98/95. 69 by the box. WW

Even more torn than before. Want it now and later. I wish those WW "by the box" prices could be for me too.

That's easy to do GAD. All you have to is buy them suckers on release. WW

I meant the cashflow to afford an entire case. I keep telling myself... someday...

I have no doubt the '95 is a nice wine, but the days of $69 by the box are long gone even on release. I think I paid $128 from the winery on release for the '97, might have been able to 'steal' it for $115 if I'd have looked hard enough. For my tastes though I just sent my last ones to auction, recouping my initial investment and buying '03 Latour is much saner than holding these oakey fruit bombs.

Hi Stealthman. My local pusher charged me 104 for my 6-pack of the 97. We are all painfully aware of the pricing but the reply was based on what I paid. " The Oaky Fruit Bombs " seem to , given time, develop into some pretty solid drinking. By-the-by, the young Latours I've had were pretty oaky too. WW

Opened a bottle of this last nite as I'm going on a sabbattical as of today that takes me into my annual trip to Vegas. The aromatics on this wine are awesome. All the rough edges are like satin and this has a maturity that was expected. The oak is integrated and the purity of the fruit is killer. Can take it to the 98 level. WW

Thanks for the update WW. I just bought a mag of this wine before Xmas for myself....gonna hold it for a special dinner in a few years. Sounds like it will have no problem holding until then?

Enjoy Vegas! Do you play cards? If so what are your games of choice?

Eng I quit gambling after I built the new towers at Ceasars. It finally dawned on me that I didn't need their money as much as they needed mine. I do ocassionally play a little Hold-Em. The only "House" vig is the pot cut.If I didn't have to be there to entertain my friends I'd stay home. Do look forward to my evenings at the Pamplemousse schmoozing with me buds. WW
