A stunner from day one. Deep ruby, no bricking. Cassis, brite cherries, sweet spices, and a trace of vanilla. Silky entry, good center and a 4&1/2-lapper finish. Some soft tannins in the background should resolve in another 1-2. Super bottling. 92/92. 23 by the box.13.7% alc. WW

I got a bottle of this for a Christmas gift and drank it one evening when Judye's therapy hadn't gone too well. It was stunning but I should have saved it for a happier time. I keep digging around in some of these little cubbyhole wine shops around here, where bottles of mid-90's vintages still standing on shelves or lying in boxes aren't uncommon. Nothing so far but I envy you the experience.

I've made this post before but thot I'd remake it. The regular Phelps Napa bottlings of the years ending in 5 have all been spectacular wines. ...75, 85, and 95. In all 3 years these have approached the quality of the Insignias. WW

Had another last nite with woked egg-plant in ginger sauce. Still at the top of it's game. Will probably do the 4 remaining over the next 2-4. WW

GOOD-BY OLE FRIEND!!! Found the last remaining bottle of this stunner and thot it'd be the perfect solution to cure my acute Tequila withdrawal symptoms. Worked swimmingly. Not a lot to add except the aramatics are almost overpowering. Perfumed the whole bloomin' family room. On the list of my 5 favorite all-time regular Napa bottlings. WW

What a surprise and it couldn't have come at a better time. I found an orphan of this great bottle and it REALLY helped ease my tooth-ache last nite. Can't emphasize how good this bottle has been over the course of its' pleasure-giving lifetime. WW
