1999 Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley. From a half-bottle. 13.9% abv
Opaque dark purple color. Dark berries with a slight herbal or leafy component. Red or black licorice note. Not quite up to my expectations for this storied estate. Good, but not outstanding.

That would be about the same for me. I've been told the wines are generally a bit bretty too. That is why I only have one bottle and it is still there....
