From 375. YES>>>>>>I does occassionally buy a box of 375s so I dont force myself to drink more than the food needs to wash it down. As I had the Loring for lunch this was the perfect foil last nite. I haven't been drinking in the evenings of late but yesterday was a major bummer as my next door neighbor and friend Professor Bob passed on. We've been neighbors for 25 years and I did introduce him and his family into the wine scene. Back to the Monty. This is coming along beautifully. Have a box of Mags and 750s so this lil' sucker bodes well for the regular size. Brite med ruby. Lovely nose of flowers, currants, red cherries, and some nice earthy components. Solid entry, weighty center and a 4+ lapper finish. Still some fine-grained tannins that should carry the larger bottles another 2-6. 92/93. 30 on futures. 13.9% alc.WW

Opened a 750 to check its' temp. Deep ruby almost opaque, Brite ruby rim. Nose a little shy but after tickling under its ear for 30 minutes gave up lush red fuits, cassis and spices. Supple entry, weighty center, and a 4+ lapper finish. Nice core of silky tannins will carry this baby another 3-6 and should hold another 10-15. Lovely effort and still one of my favorite cab houses. 94/95. 50 on futures. WW

The price has more than doubled in the last decade.

My biggest gripe is the change in their futures program. They restrict it to only people who sign up at the winery. After supporting this superb producer since 1977 it kinda irks the bejabbers outa' me. My last vintage is 2004 and looks to be it for ole'ww. WW

Thot I'd posted on this. As they don't usually have too much bottle variation I will put my money on provenance. WW

Opened another last nite whilst watching Boston dismantle the Lakers. Nose is a blast! Almost overwhelming. Berries, malted cocoa, spices and a scooch of earth all hit the palate not just running but sprinting up and down like Kobe. Still shuts down early on but the tannins are soft as WOWs' kind words. No doubt this hummer will hit the super-duper in about 2-4. WW

Glad to hear it still is sprinting. I purchased some half bottles of another vintage recently and look forward to opening them in a few years.
