Arrive this week in the wine club shipment. Normally I don't open anything this quickly but wanted to get some idea as to the quality soos in case I could order more. Later on you'll see the reasoning. This vineyard is next door to the Bates Ranch who supplied SCMV for 20 years but split in the mid-90s'. Medium ruby. Nose has red and black fruits, spices, bakers cocoa, and earth. All hit the palate with just a hint of vanilla. Still some solid tannins but is drinking beautifully. Will still develop more depth. Solid entry, weighty center and a 4+ lapper finish. 90/96. 16 by the box. 12.5% alc. WW

tried to get me some of this, but the Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards web site doesn't even mention this bottling. and the only wine they appear to be selling is a generic '05 cab. bummer, since this is right in my current price range.

any advice, WW, on where us mere mortals can find this?

My limited experience with winery wine clubs, is that they frequently make wines available to members that are not available to the general public. Don't know if this is the case here.

'Tis a wine club offering. Am waiting to hear from Jeff if he has any left that I can snag. WW

let me know if he offers you more than you want, WW. thanks.

figured it was a wine club exclusive, but there isn't even a mention on their website that they even make that bottling. then again, that's sometimes the case on this stuff. and speaking of cases, this sure sounds like a case buy.

Had one of these last night with leftovers (ribeyes, blackeyes, etc.). Very nice. Think there's only one more, from last Jan's club shipment.
