A proprietory name used by Bruce Scotland of Cornerstone vineyrds. Made primarily from Howell mtn grapes this is a big wine that is just now settling down. Medium ruby, heavy red fruits with cassis and spices. Clean entry and medium center palate and a 4-1/2 lapper finish. About at the top of its' game, but has the power to improve for the next 4-5. 89+/85 65 by the box.14.6% alc. WW

Had this along with a 96 BR Cohn Olive Hill with BRW at lunch today. The Olive Hill still has 2-4 before peaking and still is one of the gems of Sonoma. The Tay has the smell, taste, and price of Napa along with a solid core of Napa fruit along with some of the famous Rutherford Dust in both the nose and palate. Still a solid, viable bottle. No cvhange in scoring. WW

This is really neat. When WW talks about lunch at the club with BRW, I now know where that is, who it's with and what it's all about. Our lunch with WW, BRW, Cork Dork and SO's was an incredible treat and an experience I'll treasure for a long while.

And, I might add, we enjoyed having you. BRW is in the middle of marrying off his son so I'll forgive his non-participation on the board until after the nupitals. WW

Thot I'd see iff'n I'd posted on this bugger 'afore and found several. Found an orphan of this lil' darlin' and took it to the club for my weekly lunch with BRW along with another orphan the 94 Hedges Red Mtn from Wash. Both of these dudes have survived the last 7 years in much better shape than either of we 2 reprobates. The Hedges was acting like a 5 year-old with more energy than either of our tired old tongues could keep up with. The Tay was now completely an adult and a REALLY lovely one at that. Shared with the staff and a few of the regulars, both of these suckers showed the staying power of well-stored Napa juice. Lovely day. WW
