completely out of comission Yesterday. CD was kind enought o invite me, BigRedWines and 2 other friends over for a lovely tasting complete wirh appropriate appetizers and then plates full of delish food to accompany a VERY impressive lineup of wines. First off was the 06 Kosta Brown Koplan Pinot. Stunning start to a killer evening. Next was and 01 Robert Craig Affinity. Solid bottle that's eminitly drinkable. Next was the 07 Mollydooker Carnival of Love Shiraz. Kick patootie bottle that definately needs more time but has loads of the good stuff showing now. Next up was Cosentinos' Hoops vineyard. Even with my 2" verticle leap I'd play some to get another bottle of this lovely. Then it was time for Wash to strut it's stuff with the 98 Quicelda Creek Cab. Craig made another impressive entry with a 96 Mt. Veeder. Definately a TTOIG. Then they broke out the cannons! First was the 03 Ghost Horse. Can assure you that most of the hoopla is deserved. Structure, balance, and intensity. Then the 02 Ghost Horse hit the table. I must be getting weak in me old age cause this is when the lights started dimming. Remember the 1st taste but the next thing I remember is looking at the clock reading 9:30 Sat morn. My gracious host put me in a limo and sent me safely home. Needless to say the weener is now officially on a sabbatical. WW (Somehow I ended up not only with my cell but BRWs' also. When he came by for it he said they also opened an 01 Freemark Abbey Bosche instead of the 01 Ghost horse. He looked a bad as I felt )
