the much maligned 1998. With 3 examples it was quickly proves this derision isn't warrented vintage-wide. Started wioth the Raymond Reserve. Tasty stuff that has held its' fruit and structure well. Next was the Scherrer Alex Valley. HOLY BEJAMMERS what a bottle of juice, This sucker will stand up to the best of any vintage. Last was the Miura which I've posted on several times. Until the Scherrer I has given the nod of WOTV to this sucker. Now at best IMHO it is in a dead heat with the Scherrer. The last 2 hit the low-to medium 90 mark and the Raymond was close to the 90 mark but falls just short. Good time was had by all and BRW, Mike and meself managed to not waste any juice. WW

I know that everyone went gaga over the 97' vintage, but I remember within just a few years that many were saying that the 98' was going to stand up better over time than the 97'.

Looks like many were right!

We're working on our 98's now, too, and no disappointments yet. Really like the Lewelling Wight Vineyard and the regular Napa Valley!!
