The way someone explained this to me before:
only dark reds have the health benefits.

Well I really enjoy the light and fruity GALLO Café zinfandel.

Is this true that only the darks have the health benefits? If so is my favorite zinfandel not giving me full benefits? Should I stick to darker reds such as lambrusco?

No, all red wines have benefits derived from their skins. The only one that any studies have shown preference is Pinot Noir. It is not much better. Red wine in moderation is benificial.

with the knowledge i have and from what i have read online and studies etc, cabernet has more bioflavanoids and anti-oxidants, more than zinfandel and merlot. cabernet has always been my favorite anyway, even before all these health benefits were revealed..
