Home now and all went well. Moderate pain but had trouble peeing so they sent me home with orders to return by 8pm if I don't pee. Drank two cups of coffee and, voila...never been so happy to pee.
Verne the inguinal hernia is a groin hernia. I had one on the left side repaired in 1969 after being attacked by a lacrosse defense man. I now have matching scars!

Got one on the right side. Happened about 4 yrs ago. Fixed and can't see the scar after the hair grew back.

Well I shouldn't have celebrated so soon. The flow started to diminish soon after I posted and by 11pm I was completely shut down so off to the hospital emergency room for a catheter which removed 1300cc of urine. Returned home after 2am. So I now have a "foley bag" inserted with the bag configured like a S.W.A.T. leg holster. Who needs a gun in emergency situations? I just slide my robe to the side revealing my shit, (picture Clint Eastwood), and the bad guys go running. On a high note my nurse, John from Hong Kong, was a hoot. Best damn nurse I've encountered over the years. Great humor and great catheter inserter. Took time to talk to me and Eileen re. to my surgery. Praised my surgeon but slammed the nurses who allowed me to leave un-cathered as I hadn't peed at the hospital after 4 hours beyond recovery and it was shift change time for them. I thought when I peed what I did when I got home that I was on the fast track but learned that amount twas nothing what I should have eliminated.
