2012 Silverado Vineyard, Miller Ranch, Sauvignon Blanc

I was invited to a wine tasting at the CIA in St Helena a few weeks ago and tasted some marvelous wines. Have been tied up with the new design work, so I haven't had a chance to post these tasting notes until now.

The Silverado Vineyards Miller Ranch SB is 98% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Semillon. Very refreshing ripe grapefruit and melon with grass aromas. Light and bright on the palate, flavors are crisp & citrusy with mineral notes.

Silverado is a Disney family-owned property and they spare no expense in their winemaking. I very much enjoyed the SB. Of course, the accompanying small plate was a great enhancer. The CIA also spares no expense...

They paired the Silverado Miller Ranch SB with pan roasted quail,spaghetti squash, carrot-parsnip puree and house-cured bacon vinaigrette. Beautiful pairing.
