WW, I had the pleassure of openning this wine this weekend as well. It is a wonderful wine indeed. Does not show much of its age at all, especially given some of the other 97's Lotsa berries, lush, but decently balanced though decidedly on the plush side. Super for a small gathering of friends and it did not last long at all.

Have some 98 and 99 in the cellar. What are thoughts on how close they are to being ready to drink?

Methinks the 10 year point would be a good place to start. That's assuming that the '98s and '99s are as well balanced as the '97. Try one of earlier ones and see.

KC, I agree with IK, if you have more than one bottle of each in the cellar, I'd be highly tempted to open them soon at least to try out a bottle here and there. WW has vayy more experience with Insignia than I do so I'd like to see what he has to say on return.

Hi all! A fairly fast and exhausting trip but for the sake of business one that was required. Surprisingly, every one recognized me and were actually glad to see me.(Who gives a rats that most could have been influenced by the "Season to be" stuff. Ansering KCs' question it's my opinion that the 98 needs another 6-8 and the 99 should peak 5 years later. WW
