For the past few months I've been storing my wine at the bottom of a closet; until recently temps in the closet have been in the high 60s.
For the past few days, however, temps in the closet and elsewhere in the place have climbed, and today I noticed that the closet temp was 75 degrees.
This is probably getting into the realm of speculation, but is it likely (or possible or unlikely) that the wine has spoiled if the ambient temp has been in the low to mid 70s for the past few days?
(I know I won't know for sure until I pop 'em open, but it may take a while to get to all of them.)
Fortunately, the storage area I have at my new place is set at 68 degrees, and I have put the wine there, hoping all is okay....

Quijote ole' pal. Fear not. A few days in the 70s' wont harm your stash. Back in Ocrober of 83 whenced I was moving from Denver to my beloved desert I was towing a U-Haul with about 125 cases from my cellar in Denver to Phoenix. 20 miles out of Gallup N.M. my Trasmission blew like Bucko after his 2nd sit-up. Naturally there wasn't one in Gallup so had to have one put on a bus from Albuquerque. Of Course the temp in Gallup hit one degree below its record high for the day. The garage temp was 76. Nothing I could do but hope. Not ONE bottle was cooked. The internal temp in the U-Haul stayed around 65 because of the mass of cold bottles in there. Drink in good health. WW
It sounds like that U-Haul trek was a real road show! Thanks for the good news--I'll pop open a big red one tonight in your honor!
