Monte Rosso Vineyard.
A new project by Richard Arrowood and one of my haunts recommended as a very high quality zin.
This past Wednesday was my birthday (60...yikes!) and several weeks ago I purchased a coupled bottles, one to open in celebration. Upon pour very light in color. Ordinary flavors of blackberry, dark cherry, spice and a citrus note on the finish. Not the blockbuster that the reviews across the board would lead you to believe. Served blind I would have thought an ordinary, but pleasent, wine. It didn't seemed closed or flawed, just not the same wine that was reviewed. 16% Alc/vol. $31

This does sound like a depressing development. Too bad.

By the way, WW, what about this old bird Drew turning 60? These people around here seem to be getting older and older!

Thomasso I'm hip to what you've observed. Think it may be time to take me young buns over to a spot where me progressive thunking will be more appreciated. WW
