2005 Planeta Syrah, IGT, Sicily

Ripe, spicy, robust, smooth and rich, some minerality, a bit flabby but decent. Not sure I would have paid the $45 for this syrah when plenty of other Northern Rhones have more character than this for half the price. However it's not bad, just not good.
