2008 Damilano Nebbiolo d'Alba

She had a "3 sisters weekend" in Houston, going to the theater, an art show, an antiques show, la-de-da, frou-frou chick stuff. I asked her to visit Spec's and pick up a few Nebbiolo, so she returned with half a dozen of this youngster. Couldn't resist trying tonight with her chicken pasta dish (artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, alfredo sauce). Didn't even decant, just poured an hour before din-din. Whew! Fruit bomb! Wonderful nose but the palate is overwhelmed by red fruit. Needs at least a moderate nap of 3-5. $17 and change, couldn't find the alky content on the label.
