1.This old lady got engaged last evening! My honey and I decided to make things "official."
2. Even better(?) news! My Coors Lite beer drinking dearest found a wine he actually liked! We were at a family gathering where a VERY rich friend supplied the wine. He tasted a Riesling and just loved it! I'm not sure what it was...the winery started with Schl something or other. Now I have to go find him some. Personally, I don't care much for Riesling, which is fine because I'm allowed only a teensy bit of alcohol once in awhile anyhow.
I had a Napa Valley Red by Decoy, I think. Does that sound familiar to any of you?I loved it. Just fruity enough and not too dry.

First, congrats girl!
Second, the Riesling was probably from a Schloss (castle) such as Schloss Schonborn or Schloss Johannisberg (maybe the latter.) These are both Rheingau wines.

Good luck to you Georgie Girl, and happy future years with the beau. As for the Schl...I'd buy him Finger Lakes Riesling (you've heard of Glenora) so why should I tell you the potential Schloss name?

Well, way to go, Georgie!! Congratulations!!

That Decoy is from Duckhorn Vineyards and it's a classic Bordeaux blend. We like it, too.

Georgie,

Congrats to you and your beau--obviously you have been a very positive influence--Coors to Riesling, a definite step forward.

Georgie, offer your beau some Dos Equis Amber or some Shiner Bock. Either will end his affection for Colorado Kool-Ade.

Thanks everybody! We are quite happy. We have dated for several years, but when my honey broke his leg in December, I moved in to play nursemaid. I'm still there and we haven't killed each other yet, so we're pretty sure we can make it as man and wife!

Congratulations! I'm glad you're converting your honey to a wine drinker too! This bodes well for the future!
