Got back Friday. Had lots to do over the weekend and didn't get much chance to get on here. Went to a Greek restaurant in DC and had some really nice wines. Who knew there were so many good wines coming out of Greece? It's good to be a Sox fan!

I'll be in DC for the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'd like to take a couple of friends of mine to dinner. Would you recommend the Greek place? If so, what was it?

The place we went is Zaytinya. It's on 9th St. right outside the 9th and G St. Metro entrance. The owner/chef owns two other restaurants that specialize in Spanish tapas. This is a Greek version and he calls the dishes mezze. They're like tapas, being small portions. We had six people and we ordered about thirty different plates. As for the wines, they have a very large selection, most of which I've never heard of before. So, three of us ordered the flights to start, which were three 2 oz. pours each. We tried them all and decided which we wanted with the rest of the meal. I opted for the Palivou, which was very fruity and had a bit of RS - went very well with the mezze. Here's their web site - www.zaytinya.com. Well worth a try.
