I'm looking for a good introductory to Cab Francs. A 1996 L'Ecosse was recommended by my local wine shop. Does anyone have any experience with this particular vintage? Any other recomendations?

Not with the vintage, but with the winery. Fine Cab Franc in prior vintages IMO.

Thanks, Bucko. I think I purchase the '96. I'm new to this site and to wine. I've been regularly drinking wine for two years. Most of my purchases to date have been by experimentation and, to a lesser extent, from recommendation.

I'm already enjoying the comments, advice, and recommendation previously posted. I expect to learn a lot from this site.

Well welcome to the site. We are a pretty friendly bunch, and there are a lot of people here with significant wine and food backgrounds. Don't let intimidate you -- your opinion is as valuable as anyone elses.

Experimention based on good recommendations is the best way to go IMHO. Pulling corks is the only way to learn.
