the big game? I had to break off a second to fire up my teensy(compared to Gils' and Buck-Snorts) smoker for the baby-backs. Having home-made cole slaw and beans slow cooked without enny harmful fats. All of the above are approved on CB and my South Beach. Must decide on the wine....Zin..Yes!, and A nice CDP for me and naturally a Dehlinger SW Chard for me love. Life is GOOD!! WW

snack food with Domaine Dupont Calvados Cask-Aged Cider.

Later some hearty veggie thing with lentils
and an '01 Caves de Papes Oratorio Gigondas.
We have a '99 Frederic Magnien White Morey St. Denis for the white drinkers. I'll steal a sip because I'm curious as heck about it. Actually, maybe I'll just give them an '01 Anne Gros Bourogne Blanc instead and save the Magnien for me!

Go Colts!

I don't really care about this one except to see a good game, but Peyton has earned it and Dungy deserves it...

So far, we've had bacon wrapped water chestnuts, bacon wrapped artichoke hearts, chili w/ red beans over rice and nachos. Next is some taco chips and guacomole. After that is a classic Swiss fondue. Then the filet mignon and garlic mashed. I forget what's after that.

Hate to brag but if these weren't the most succulent, delicious, falling-off-the-bone-tender baby-backs ever slathered wif some home-made BBQ sauce in the whole ever-lovin'-put-together then them dudes were derned sure a close 2nd. Had a bottle of McCrea 2003 Cuvee Orleans Syrah that was purrfect with them hummers. Going for 2nds in an hour and must make the momentous decision as to the wine that will accompany. If it 'twere enny better I'd hafta' be twins. WW

I'm not at all excited about the Subpar Bowl, seeing as I can't stand Manning from his UT days (Alabama grad), and I was pre-programmed to loathe the Bears (was born, spanked, and wrapped in a Packer blanket for my baby photos, which should give you an idea of my upbringing).

However, I'll still watch. We're having Anne's awesome greens & beans stew over rice, with an older Catena Malbec to wash it down.

Have a fun, safe evening everyone!

Grilled some filets over oak and she fixed green beans and spuds. Chose an '01 Carruades de Lafite to get a data point, but only decanted for an hour before dinner... not hearly long enough. Nice wine, but it needs another 3-5 of sleep IMO.

Da Bears be a big disapointment. Young Rex still isn't ready for the big leagues.

"AMINULE! WW;0"

Are we supposed to crack that code?

Anyway, missed the entire game stuck in airports and planes. Late departures, engines not starting on planes, and computers going down on planes made for a 14 hour flight from Des Moines to Baltimore. Go United!

Glad everyone else had a good time.

Brappy,

I believe the Weener may be making reference to our super bowl menu.

By the way, WW, we decided to go with roasted fingerlings instead of the garlic mashed with the filet mignon.
