Alicia, Jamie and the mighty Ray gave a great beginning to what should be an entertaining afternon. Hope the game is as inspiring as " America " was. WW

Weird game! I guess the end result is all that matters - except for my son. He took the Pats and the spread and they only won by three. Say goodbye to those 300 portraits of ole George.

Ha! I helped host a party yesterday. I watched none of the game. I did, however, make sure I watched my baby Paul during half time.(sigh)He's still gorgeous. and I won $20 in the pool... a good night. Oh, and the fifties food thing was a big hit. We all decided that considering what we ate as kids, it's a wonder we survived!

Well, here goes. It was an "everybody bring" type affair and everybody brought!
Appetizers:
Spam with spray cheese on saltines
Ribbon sandwiches (triple deckers cut in fourths; one layer chives cream cheese, one pimiento cream cheese and one ham salad)
stuffed mushrooms
Chex party mix (the original homemade type)
a hot dip made with chipped beef and topped with walnuts
pigs in blankets

Mains and sides
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy
Tater Tot casserole
Tuna noodle casserole
meatballs with wagon wheel pasta
Swedish meatballs
fried chicken
(anybody's arteries clogging yet?)
chili cheese dogs with french fries
three bean salad
macaroni and cheese

Desserts
2 bundt cakes (I don't know what flavor)
made-from scratch vanilla layer cake with orange cream cheese frosting
Rice Krispy squares
Rice Krispy/peanut butter/chocolate clusters
chocolate chip cookies (three kinds)
monkey bread
brownies
assorted candies and fudge
There might have been more, but I'm feeling ill just writing this. Next year we've decided to do spa food.

It was closer than it should have been. They won so all is well though. Now one more to enter the Steelers level of dynasty. Oh what an 06 bowl that will be.
