sorry to hear WW and Drew. I deal with this on a daily basis at work, but it doesn't make losing your own any easier. I'm thinkin of you both. WD

I have a friend who calls dogs "Hope With Fur."

Dear Rosabel is always ecstatic to see me. She just can't stand it when her head's not in my lap and I'm not scratching her -- and she looks up at me with those big, soulful eyes. She is the best of all possible listeners.

She will go away from me, perhaps in five or six years, and I will lose a dear, dear friend.

WOW,

We ended up not having the Siduro or Loring. I forgot we were going to a wine dinner at the yacht club. It was an Italian affair with the majority of the wines from Rocca delle Macie. Started with a Vernaccia and a Rubizzo (95% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot), then to an Orvieto, a Morellino di Scansano, a Chianto Classico Riserva and a Roccato (Super Tuscan). Dessert was accompanied with a Privilegio (botrytised Fiano di Avelino) from Feudi di San Gregorio. All in all, a pretty good time. Oh yeah, the main courses were Halibut baked with wild mushrooms in phyllo and Bacon Wrapped Medallions of Venison.

Another wine dinner to leave me envious. The food and wines sound exciting!

WW and drew, i am so sorry for both of your losses. as some of u may remember, my wife is in vet school and our 3 children all have fur. no, they're not little robin williamses, they are a dog and 2 cats and i love them dearly. without getting too sappy, i call them our furry little angels and i am very thankful for the joy they bring to our lives every day. i will be lifting a glass of '02 hanenhof shiraz tonight to toast socksie and monroe.

(and over the weekend, had a '97 sebastiani sonoma cask cab and an '01 rancho zabaco sonoma heritage vines zin.)
