My wife and I are planning on having a wine tasting party and we wanted to focus on Finger Lakes Region wines. We are having 4 other couples over. We wanted a couple varities of wines, and hors d'oeuvres/ appetizers. We want to keep the cost reasonable. Does anyone have suggestions for wines and foods? Thank you very much.

Don't know where you live, but if it is a state other than NY you will have hard time finding Finger Lakes wine.

The best representation of the region is Riesling--dry, sweet or beyond. Next, try Cabernet Franc. After that, maybe a local grape like Cayuga White or the solid Seyval.

Producers to seek: Prejean, Glenora, Konstantin Frank, Anthony Road, Fox Run, Lafayette Reneau; there are many others of course..
