I am a student in Texas and am looking for a good hill country wine to give to a woman who lives in Minnesota. Neither of us knows very much about wine, but I think it would be a neat gift for Christmas. Any suggestions?

Just head west towards Fredericksburg. Along the way and there you will see wineries and wine stores with tasting rooms. Stop, and taste. That will educate you. Don't ask them to ship to your women in MN. You might get away with it, but it is against the law for them to ship OUT of Texas.

That's good advice, Cap. Fredericksburg is an easy day trip for you. You could find many Texas wines in any good wine/liquor store in Austin, but you'd have to buy several bottles to try a variety, and Innkeeper has recommended a more economical alternative.
