1996 Sebastiani Merlot

I bought a 5 Liter bottle of a 1996 Sebastiani Merlot 3 years back Is this still a good bottle? I am not sure if Merlot ages welll. I would like to share this bottle with my friends in the near future.

Hi kimberlean and welcome to the board. Just a wild guess but you attended a charity auction? Sooner rather than later is my suggestion on gathering your friends. And, you're right. Merlot generally is not vinified to age. Good luck. WW
