Hi I just started getting to know my wines. Can someone recommend a good white wine and a good brand?

Hi Jxliang, and welcome to the Wine Board. The last one we enjoyed was 2002 Mad Fish Western Australian Chardonnay. That may or may be one you would enjoy. Please peruse some of out other threads such a Australia, Chardonnay, Germany, Italian, Loire, and Sauvignon Blanc. There is a wealth of material there and you can "go back" as far as you want on any thread. Have fun.

Thanks for welcome. I was also wondering, with white wines, should I drink that while it's young? And when I shop for wine, what year/s should I be looking for in particular regarding white?

For most white wines, but not all (that is for the geeks around here), the younger the better. Right now you can look for '03s from the Southern Hemisphere and '02s from North America and Europe. Chill your whites to between 55 and 60 degrees F. If they stay in a 35 or 40 degree fridge too long, the flavor is dulled.
