2003 Lafite Rothschild storage question

First of all, let me thank the board in advance for answering my questions. I have been interested in wine for quite a while, but just now getting serious.

My question is: I've come across a store that has the 2003 Lafite Rothschild's in stock. They recieved their stock about a month ago. However, they have just kept it in a bottom shelf w/ no cooling (just the wharehouse cooling - guessing 70ish) and no cover.

Does this ruin a wine, or should I go and save some =)?

Second question: How much do we expect these wines to appreciate over time? How much is it worth now, and how do we see it going in 5-10 years?

I'm seeing prices ~400ish right now. Is that about right?

Hi JBworldwide, and welcome to the Wine Board. My view is that it is far better to invest in the stock market than in wine. Having said that, if you can afford the Lafite Rothschild and are fond of First Growth Bordeaux, go for it. I don't think it has been harmed. It is good that it was stocked down low as heat rises. Most stores put the best stuff on top. Plan on aging it a minimum of seven or eight years in a cool, humid place.
