Need help with red

I am new to the wonderful world of wine. So far, I have only had white. I would like to become more familiar with a good red. Also, are all reds served at room temperature?

Welcome, Krista. Most reds are best served at room temperature, but Beaujolais are an exception: they're better slightly chilled.

Hi Kristagea and welcome to the board.Suggest you try a Meritage, a blend of the classic Bordeaux grapes, first. Lots of nice ones on the market. Beaulieu " Tapestry ", Beringer " Alluvium" or Estancia. About serving temp, room temp is fine as long as your room 'haint no hotter than 65*. WW

Thanks hotwine! I tried a Beaujolais today. It was pretty good. And I will definitely try some of the ideas that winoweenie gave. I will let everyone know what I think.
