I'm not looking to become a wine expert, or even close to one. I'm just hoping someone can give me the name of a wine that I could enjoy as an all around wine. In Canada, I could pick one by the number rating...0 being very dry, 10 was very sweet. I found the ones I liked to be around a 4-5. Right in the middle. Can anyone give me a suggestion about which wine would be a good one to try?
Thanks!! Sandi

Well, I'll give it a try. Here is my best guess at what may be some medium sweet wines:

White:
Lambrusco (Italy)
Mosel (Germany)
Riesling Kabinett (Germany, Austria)
Riesling Spatlese (Germany, Austria)
Chenin Blanc (California)
Cotes de Bergerac (France)
Orvieto Abboccato (Italy)
Vouvray Moelleux (France)

Sweet Sparkling or Champagne:
Asti Spumante (Italy)
Sweet Sket (Germany)
Sweet Proscecco (Italy)
Demi-Sec Champagne (France)

Fortified Wines:
Medium Amontillado sherry (spain)

Thanks mrdutton. Your list will at least give me a starting point. Much better than walking into a wine shop and being overwhelmed by the many varities and not having anay idea what to ask for.
Thanks again,
