I was given two bottles of Cuvee Dom Perignon, a 1969 and a 1976 vintage. Storage conditions have been good, although there was some extended regrigeration. Both are now safely in my cellar. Does anyone know if either is still drinkable? I am also looking for ballpark values. Some have told me to contact an auction house, and others have said to pour them down the drain (but how can you do that to a Dom?!, so I am really in need of some more input.

Norhtern Lights, welcome to the wine board!

Try wine searcher: www.winesearcher.com. Or you can try Wine Spectator: www.winespectator.com, as they have an extensive database of tasting notes.

I saw prices there between $550.00 and 1050.00 for the 1969 and around $395.00 for the 1976.

If you have decent provenence on the wines, might I suggest you save them for a special occasion and consume them then.

Selling single bottles of wine, even very fine wines can sometimes be difficult. Plus you have to bear in mind that the prices above are "paper value" and are not what you'd expect to gain at a sale or auction were to to try to sell them.

I did not research the vintage years to see how good they were.

Aurora, welcome to the board. MrD, , guess our merchants out here aren`t in it for the money. Can buy the 69 Dom for 350, and 76 for ~bout the same. How-ever, Borie, ole` cock-ole`- bean, the funnest way is to crack them suckers and invite MrD and yours-truly over for the great evaluation and get acquainted party. winoweenie
