shipping wine to china for personal use

hi, anyone knows how i can ship wine to my brother who lives in china. it seems fedex and USUP don't accept wine shipment to china. tks.

Sorry but this is not easy at all! There are companies that do this but they charge $$$ so the bottle better be worth it. I know I've ran across a few before but I can't seem to find them.

Ship a couple extra bottles for me please. We're planning a trip there and someone told me "There is no wine in China".

Last I heard, there were over 300 wineries in China making wine from grapes. They've been importing a lot of cuttings and planting a thousands of acres of vineyards. A lot of the planting and the winemaking has been done under consultation from Western winemakers. So, there must be some wine there.

Depends on where you are going, most of the 3 to 5 stars hotels in bigger city has good wine, you pay more of cause. But some are pretty nasty though. Most of the wine are from Spain, Italy and France. Very little US wine. China is fun, have a great trip.

From what I know there are quite a few local wines, and it is growing. Great Wall is the one of the better ones. You can get these at Wal-mart or some bigger supermarkets.

There was a relatively recent thread on the subject on Chinese wines, perhaps you would have an opinion on it - I'd love to read more on the subject if you know anything about Chinese wine production.

In China, you can pretty much get any wine that you want except that the selection in countries will not be as large. Eg. you will not find ALL of US wines in China for the same reason that you do not find all th French wines in the US. Having said that, pretty much all of the top end brands are already there. All of the large brands are there. It's those in between brands that we love to look out for that may not be available. Also taxes are still pretty high so prepare to pay a bit more for them than you are use to.

i didn't have any chinese wine here in the states, but had few when i was in china. it seems to me 1995 was a good year for cabs in that region, again i didn't have Changyu's cabs but had 1995 great wall's cab, it was very good. well balanced. so anything you like to try i would go for 95 cabs.

Good new, indeed. A couple decent Bordeaux and some brut Champagnes should fill our needs til we get back to our own cellar.
