My wife and I are having our 25th wedding anniversary party at a local institution and they have given me a very limited wine list from which to choose. I have about 200 guests coming and simply want them to enjoy themselves and the wine. Could someone please let me know what they think of this list. I can go outside the list but it is very difficult. My thought was to have a white and a red available for our guests. Here are the choices:

RED--Talus Merlot; Banderia Cabernet; Ruffino Chianti; B & G Beaujolais; Indigo Hills Pinot Noir; Zonin Montepulciano d" Abruzzo

WHITE--Talus Chardonnay; B & G Vouvray; Zonin Pinot Grigio; Bandiera Sauvignon Blanc

Or should I just go get some Bud Light?

JKaster welcome to the board. My local Wendys' offer a better selection of wines than this. If the idea is to make everyone of your invitees happy, I'd derned sure see about having a good wine store cater this sucker. WW

Agree with the above, but if I HAD to stick with list, would go with the B&G selections.

Whew, that is a mediocre list. Tell them you are having a splendid affair and that their wine list does not meet your requirements. You have every right to either demand they get what you want or they let you bring in what you want.

But you have to wonder: if the wines are so bland, what will the food be like?

Actually, the Zonin M d'A is typically a decent, quaffable wine for such an inexpensive, full bodied red. However, it is typically full-bodied, so may not be as good for the crowd as the B&G. cp
