I need to take a bottle of white and of red to a ladies luncheon. I enjoy wine very much, esp lately but still at point where I ask for recommendation i.e., restaurant, wine shop, etc.... Not sure of anyone's taste so I need something safe. Thanks!

Hi Donna, and welcome to the Wine Board. If you have a halfway decent wine store nearby you should be able to find a Vouvray and and Chinon from the Loire Valley. They should run $10 - $15. The Vouvray is an off dry Chenin Blanc that only the folks from Loire can make. The Chinon is a medium bodied, fragrant Cabernet Franc. Both would have wide appeal, and are light enough for luncheon.

Thanks so much for the advice. We have a few wine shops around so I should be able to find them.
