Rose (with an accent over the e) is a pinkish colored wine made from red grapes. The juice has had only minimal contact with the skins to pick up some color. Chardonnay is a white grape which makes white wine. (Arguably) the best examples of wine made form the Chardonnay grape are the white Burgundies and Champagnes. Sauvignon can be either Sauvignon Blanc (a white grape) or Cabernet Sauvignon (a red grape whose parents are Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc). There are also some minor varieties, such as Sauvignon Vert.

Didn't believe he was new since he had joined us on 1 February. Regardless, a belated welcome, and come back often.

Thanks for all your positive responses, I cannot regularly go on to the site due to limited internet connectivity. At least now I can buy something with some knowledge.

hi, and a late welcome

there is a good book you can buy that is a great help in learning about wines. The title to some seemd rude, but it is part of a series of books on a lot of topics that is geared for people who have no knowledge about the topic, it is not making a statement of their intelligence (except in my case, it fits me perfectly in the area of wine). The name is "Wine for Dummies".
I am sure you have seen other types, such as Computers or Sign Language, or whatever for Dummies. This is the same type.

I bought it, and have enjoyed reading it, it is easy to read and understand. It has been a great help, expecially when I can not get here to pick the experts brains. It is more enjoyable to come here, but the book is a great backup.
