I bought a bottle of Campogrande Orvite Classico 2002 last fall. I should probably enjoy it sooner rather than later. The only thing I remember about it is that I liked it when I tasted it in the store. What kind of food do you reccomend pairing with it?

I remember having it in Italy with some light pasta dishes with herbs and vegetables. And I like it a lot with seafood such as shrimp, crab, clams and especially scallops. Yum!

Drink it as soon as possible though.

Thanks Zinner and IK.

I'm going to a dinner this week where the main dish will be a pineapple/brown sugar chicken. Should I bring something else, or should this pair well?

I would bring something sweeter, such as a Riesling Spatlese or a Vouvray from the Lorie.

I agree. You usually don't want your dish to be a lot sweeter than your wine because that can make your wine appear acidic and thin. The flavors in that dish might overpower the Orvieto.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. We opened a bottle of Domaine Pichot Vouvray 2002 from my cellar. It really complemented well. I'll plan another day for the Orvieto.
