- PinotEnvy - 09-12-2004 I bought a bottle of Campogrande Orvite Classico 2002 last fall. I should probably enjoy it sooner rather than later. The only thing I remember about it is that I liked it when I tasted it in the store. What kind of food do you reccomend pairing with it? - Zinner - 09-13-2004 I remember having it in Italy with some light pasta dishes with herbs and vegetables. And I like it a lot with seafood such as shrimp, crab, clams and especially scallops. Yum! - Innkeeper - 09-13-2004 Drink it as soon as possible though. - PinotEnvy - 09-14-2004 Thanks Zinner and IK. I'm going to a dinner this week where the main dish will be a pineapple/brown sugar chicken. Should I bring something else, or should this pair well? - Innkeeper - 09-14-2004 I would bring something sweeter, such as a Riesling Spatlese or a Vouvray from the Lorie. - Zinner - 09-17-2004 I agree. You usually don't want your dish to be a lot sweeter than your wine because that can make your wine appear acidic and thin. The flavors in that dish might overpower the Orvieto. - PinotEnvy - 09-18-2004 Thanks to everyone for the advice. We opened a bottle of Domaine Pichot Vouvray 2002 from my cellar. It really complemented well. I'll plan another day for the Orvieto. |
