This is a new one. I edited two separate posts--each time, they showed up after the editing and then vanished the next time I signed on.

Strange.

The mystery only concerns them showing up clean after you edited them. As for the deleted edited posts, I did it as I do for all duplicate posts that posters don't remove. Still don't know the answer to the first mystery.

You wiped out the edited ones and the originals re-appeared. That never happened in the past. Why are the originals now separate from the edited posts? And if they are, why not wipe out the original instead of the edited one? The edited one is the obvious intended one.

I purposely edited this post to see what happens.

I know this is confusing, so I will try to state the problem clearly. In both cases the post you edited with the note: [The message has been edited by foodie] had the exact same post (the edited one) under it without the note. So I deleted the version with the note. This left your post as you wanted it edited without the note that you had edited it. As I stated before I don't know how the clean posting appeared under the one with the edit note.

Perhaps. But each time I had made an edit I had made a change in the original, which is the reason I would edit a post.

OK, in the future I will not eliminate any edited posts, even if the clean one reads the same.
