I've got a bottle of 1978 Rutherford Vinters Cabernet, produced in Napa County. I bought it 3 weeks before the winery got bought out by some other winery. It was a "Gold medal winer" at the California State fair. I was just wondering what it might be worth assuming it's been well taken care of.

Limited value except to yourself, I would think. The wine is not one of the sought after collectables although it would be fun to open it for a novelty.

You`ll be very fortunate if this little one time jewell isn`t stone-cold dead. Not one of the mega-stars of the great 78 vintage. Refer to Wine Spectator`s tasting of 78`s last year.
