It's been sitting for 2 weeks, and there's still some moisture hanging around the inside shoulder area.

Does this happen to anybody else?

Typical for Seattle. Send it to WW in AZ and it will dry right out.

Isn't Seattle where it rains forever? Could there be a correlation?

Seriously, get some Seventh Generation Free & Clear Natural Dish Liquid, a decanter cleaning wand and drying rack - the first from Whole Foods (or somewhere similar) and the last two from www.wineenthusiast.com. Works for me.

Funny KC...on the good side of that kind of weather, is that this is probably one of the few places in the country where you can simply put wine in the basement, and it will be fine year round.

But honestly, what made me scratch my head is that in the cooler months it tends to be much less humid (not that it's very humid at all here), and I'm certainly no weatherman, but my hands and face dry out really quickly in the winter time, so i figure the air must be dry, so my decanter should dry out too!

BUT! you have given me what I've been looking for, and that's the name of a good soap for washing the wine glasses. For the Decanter, I've honestly just been swirling water around before the wine drys and letting it sit upside down overnight. Bucko said that's what he does...

I actually have a long, flexible cotton mop thingie bobber that dries a decanter quickly. I think I got it from IWA.
