I am looking for information on what equipment I need to make a sparkling wine with carbon dioxide. I talked to someone at Wineries unlimited tradeshow and she said that if I'm not making alot I could add it by hand. But I'm not sure what I have to have to measure how much co2 is in the bottle. My plan would be to use a sweet fruity concord wine or a sweet rose made from french american hybrids. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would think you could get some information from your fellow winemakers who produce sparkling wines. For instance, try Michael Manz at Mountain Dome Winery in Spokane, WA. He only makes sparklers, and you can reach him by email at manz@mountaindome.com. Or closer to home, try Dan Kleck at Palmer Vineyard in Aquebogue, NY on Long Island. I don't think he has an email address, but his phone number is (516) 722-9463. You could also call Carol Russell at Westport Rivers Vineyard in Westport, MA. Her number is (508) 636-3423.

Good luck,
Bob
